Captain Bobby Nash (Peter Krause) is hit by tragedy when he discovers the body of his friend and AA sponsor, Wendell (Maurice J. Irvin), at the scene of a grass fire. Suspicious of a nearby rehab facility, Bobby begins a solo investigation into Wendell's death.

After visiting the "Murder House" during a call, Chimney (Kenneth Choi) learns its dark history was actually just a tragic car accident. He eventually convinces Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) to buy the house so they can turn it into a home for their family.
