Berserk: The Golden Age Arc I - The Egg of the King (original title: Ougon Jidai-hen I - Haou no Tamago ) is the first installment in a film trilogy by Studio 4°C that adapts the "Golden Age" arc of Kentaro Miura’s dark fantasy manga. Released in Japanese theaters on February 4, 2012, and in North America on November 27, 2012, the film re-envisions the early days of the mercenary Guts and his fateful meeting with the charismatic Griffith.
