In my community, the phrase " jálale " is more than just a call to "pull" or "let's go"; it is a mindset of active initiation. Growing up, I learned that waiting for the perfect moment meant waiting forever. Instead, progress required the initiative to grasp the rope and pull—to jálale —even when the outcome was uncertain. The first session had only two attendees, but by pulling—by putting in the effort and asking others to join—the program grew to support dozens of seniors.
