"Remastered," he whispered, hitting save. The edges were cleaner, the sound was crisper, but when he looked into the protagonist's eyes, he could still see the boy who had built it twenty years ago, staring back through the pixels.

Elias paused the frame. It was beautiful, technically flawless, and entirely hollow. The grit of the old limitations had forced the player’s imagination to do the work. The "imperfections" were where the emotion lived.
