Zhuan Falun -

Zhuan Falun teaches that the foundational nature of the cosmos is Zhen-Shan-Ren. Practitioners seek to assimilate to these values, which are believed to enhance virtue and lead to enlightenment.

Zhuan Falun is intended as a guide to elevating a practitioner’s moral character—referred to as xinxing —and achieving spiritual enlightenment. It distinguishes itself from popular qigong practices of the era by focusing on "cultivation" (improving oneself) over just "practice" (physical exercises). Core Principles and Philosophical Teachings

A central tenet is the cultivation of a Falun (Law Wheel), an intelligent, rotating energy entity said to be embedded in the lower abdomen to cultivate energy (gong) even when the practitioner is not actively meditating. Structure of the Text

The book consists of nine lectures, which are transcripts of teachings given by Mr. Li Hongzhi.

Zhuan Falun provides a unique perspective on suffering, suggesting that misfortunes and illnesses are repayments of karmic debt. It advocates for Forbearance (Ren), or endurance, encouraging practitioners to accept hardship with a calm mind, thereby transforming black karma into white karma and accumulating de (virtue).

The text emphasizes that physical health is secondary to improving one's xinxing . By voluntarily losing, reducing attachments, and enduring hardships (karmic debt repayment), one’s xinxing upgrades, allowing them to rise in spiritual level.
